I know what you are going through because I have been there.
The first time I dealt with lice was when my oldest daughter was in kindergarten. (She is now in college.) I received a note home from the school nurse explaining what lice is and that I must use an over-the-counter treatment product to treat her before she will be allowed back in to school. Well, I had never even heard of lice before this, so needless to say I was totally freaked out!
My three children have gotten lice many times in the years since then. I researched and learned more and more about how to effectively treat them each time. Until during one episode I had my "aha!" moment.
I had figured out a system that worked which was non-toxic, was more effective at killing and removing lice than anything else I had tried, and best of all, my kids didn't mind it!
After helping friends and family for years, my sister-in-law suggested I go into the lice removal business. Obviously, I thought it was a great idea. I get to help other mothers who are still in the freaking out stage or who are frustrated because other products or methods haven't worked. I can get their lice problem under control in a couple of hours, teach them how to comb their children's heads properly, teach them how to avoid becoming re-infested and much more. It's a very rewarding job.
